Dr. Marzieh Karkhanechi received her Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Davis after which she moved to New York to attended the prestigious New York University dental school where she received her doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) in 2003. Dr. Karkhanechi gained experience practicing general dentistry for several years prior to entering the Orthodontic residency program at NYU where she completed her post-doctoral education in orthodontics and received an orthodontic specialty certificate. After graduation, she moved back to California and started her orthodontic career in the bay area.
Dr. Karkhanechi feels extremely privileged to be working in the field of orthodontics where she has the opportunity to create beautiful smiles and ultimately be rewarded by her patient’s satisfaction. Her goal as an orthodontist is to give every child, adolescent and adult a healthy, beautiful smile. Dr. Karkhanechi constantly strives for excellence in her professional life. She embraces todays advanced techniques and stays up to date on the latest orthodontic and dentofcial orthopedic advances by attending numerous continuing education courses and subscribing to relevant professional journals. Her research has been published in leading scientific journal.

Dr. Karkhanechi currently resides in Danville with her husband Sam and her two sons Darian and Daniel. When she is not working, she enjoys playing the piano, yoga and going on biking trips with her family.
Juan Fernando Luque, MD, DDS, is an oral & maxillofacial health expert. He is board certified in oral & maxillofacial surgery. He is also a member of the American and the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Luque is on staff at California Pacific Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. As a staff hospital surgeon, he performs emergency operations for people who have experienced facial trauma such as from car accidents, pathogens or violence. Sharing his professional time between the practice and hospital work, Dr. Luque finds that the balance of the two settings keeps him on the leading edge of developments in maxillofacial surgery, treatments and technologies.
Dr. Luque has a passion for using his advanced medical training to serve people around the world. To date, he has made close to 20 pro bono trips to Brazil, Colombia, Philippines and elsewhere to treat over 2,500 children and adults in need of medical care. The work he performs each year includes surgeries for uncommon, difficult cases of cleft palate and cleft lip, tumors, and facial trauma reconstruction. In conjunction with medical providers in each of countries he visits, Dr. Luque also conducts medical evaluations and treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions.
In his free time, Dr. Luque enjoys philosophy, triathlons, water polo, traveling the world and learning about different cultures. He speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reducing environmental impact is very important to the practice. We have implemented a paperless system while working toward conversion to a 100% green medical building.
Dr. Zaid Faraji earned his doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) from the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF), and completed an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University (LSU) in New Orleans. Then he finished his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also certified in ACLS, ATLS, PALS and BLS.
Dr. Faraji is trained in full-scope oral and maxillofacial procedures, and has clinical interests and expertise in dental implant, bone grafting, virtual surgical planning, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, facial trauma, wisdom teeth extraction, anesthesia, craniofacial pathology, and tempromandibular joint (TMJ) surgery.
Dr. Faraji’s interests in oral surgery began while serving with the Red Cross in Iraq during college. He enjoys both clinical and research experience in surgery, and is involved in several research studies that have led to presentations about obstructive sleep apnea at the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial (AAOMS) annual conference in Las Vegas in 2016. He is also an active member of AAOMS, ADA, CDA. Currently, Dr. Faraji also works as a staff surgeon at a local hospital where he takes call and performs surgery for trauma, pathology, and comprehensive cases in oral and maxillofacial surgeries. He also volunteers regularly for mission trips to third world countries, and has performed surgeries in Haiti and the Middle East.
Dr. Logesh Sway, Periodontist graduated from dental school in 2003. He continued his education with Masters in Public Health and advanced training in periodontics (gum disease), implants and sedation dentistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research is on “Effect of Stress on Oral mucosal wound healing”. Upon graduation, he continued to become a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology and Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Sway’s expertise is in bone regeneration (block grafts, chin grafts, ridge split etc.) tissue grafting, gummy smile treatment, crown lengthening, canine exposures, sinus augmentation and computer guided implant surgeries. He has been placing implants for several years with a high success rate. Dr. Sway is reputed in full mouth rehabilitation with fixed implant restorations. Dr. Sway’s advanced training and continuing education helps his patients receive the latest treatments with cutting-edge instruments. Dr.Sway achievement includes: Honorable mention at the Midwest Society of Periodontics, Chicago, 2009; Life Sciences Award, The University of Illinois at Chicago, Research Day, 2009, Volpe Award Finalist at The Ohio State University College, OH, 2009, Young Investigator Award, Chicago, 2009.
Dr. Setty specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of problems associated with the tooth pulp, which is the soft tissue located inside the root canal. When that part of the tooth becomes damaged or infected, it can cause excruciating pain that requires root canal surgery or other procedures to alleviate the toothache and save the tooth.
Dr. Setty is fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and is conversational in Spanish. She earned her Certificate in Endodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and has been published in the Journal of Endodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
Dr. Benjamin Robinson received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree cum laude from University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2013. During this time Dr. Ben received many awards for his proficiency in pediatric dentistry, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Certificate of Merit Award, an award given to a single student who shows the most promise in pediatric dentistry. He then went on to complete a two year Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Residency in Honolulu, Hawaii. During this time he served as chief resident of the department in his second year, overseeing the first year residents and treating a wide variety of complex cases under general anesthesia and oral conscious sedation.
Dr. Ben’s treatment philosophy revolves around the concept of providing functional, integrative, and personalized dental care. This evidence based approach focuses on the unique needs of each patient specifically, tailoring an individualized approach to achieve desired outcomes. Dr. Ben aims to create the absolute best environment for young patients to remain comfortable and happy.
Dr. Ben lives in San Mateo, with his wife and two sons.
